TANQUERAY GIN CHIME
Our very popular Gin Chimes are back...Those empty bottles take some gathering!!
This beauty has been created from a Tanqueray gin bottle.
A truly eco-friendly and unique gift, ideal for the gin lovers amongst us!All weather hardy, it comes ready to hang - when the sun shines on this, it really show off that rich, deep green colour of the Tanqueray bottle. As it catches the breeze, it gives off a lovely soft but distinct cheers-like 'tinkle-tankle', creating quite the peaceful atmosphere.
I cut the bottle into slices, then cold-work each 'slice', placing them in the kiln for several stages of overnight firing. Cutting the bottle into these layers is deceptively tricky and time consuming, as is the drilling of the holes post-firing (tense too!)!A steady hand and lots of patience is the key for both parts of the process. The final stage is wiring, and as I find the right balance, I hear its' chime for the first time...fun moments.
The perfect accompaniment to any garden, indoor urban jungle, balcony or window.
